Document Reader SDK 9.9 — October 8, 2026

IMPORTANT changes

  • Updated the minimum supported iOS version from 13 to 15. This change is required by Apple starting in spring 2027, when all iOS apps must have a minimum supported version of 15.0 or later to be uploaded to App Store Connect or submitted for distribution.
  • Added support for processing custom RFID chip applications, including Romanian ID cards that are accessible only after entering a PIN.
  • Significantly improved the overall quality of PDF processing by adding support for PDFs with layers, improving the handling of complex PDF structures, and increasing processing stability.

Prior notice: in the upcoming release iOS 16 will become the minimum supported version.

MRZ

  • Updated the issuing state name from Nauru to the Republic of Naoero.

Barcode

  • Added VDS check support for Hungarian visas. To perform the check, set checkVDS to true.

Text data parsing and validation

  • Fixed a transliteration issue for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Spanish in ICAO and non-ICAO text fields.
  • Fixed an issue with comparing the Argentinian document number between the MRZ and barcode.

Other

  • Significantly improved the overall quality of PDF processing by adding support for PDFs with layers, improving the handling of complex PDF structures, and increasing processing stability.
  • Improved code quality with minor issues fixed.

Core RFID SDK

  • Added support for processing custom RFID chip applications, including Romanian ID cards that are accessible only after entering a PIN.
  • Fixed an issue with mDL signer certificates where, when the CSCA certificate was revoked via CRL, the ntfLDS_Auth_SignerInfo_Certificate_Revoked notification was not returned and the revoked status was not assigned to the mDL signer certificate.
  • Reduced the RFID Core size by removing unnecessary modules.

Enums

  • Added new eRFID_Commands enum members:
    • RFID_Command_Session_Open_Applet
    • RFID_Command_Session_Password_VerifyPIN

Hardware Support

  • Fixed an issue with reprocessing document images that had been captured earlier on Access-IS devices.
  • Fixed an issue where frame capture after calling RPRM_Command_Process_Cancel could incorrectly cancel the current processing on Desko devices.

Mobile API

  • Updated the camera UI to use a square camera frame for mDL engagement by QR code.
  • Updated the user interface buttons to improve readability for people with visual impairments.
  • Updated the Skip button position in double-page spread mode.

Android

  • Improved code quality with minor issues fixed.

iOS

  • Updated dependencies to the latest versions to address security vulnerabilities.

  • Updated dependencies to the latest versions to address security vulnerabilities.

Demo Website

  • Improved code quality with minor issues fixed.
  • Updated dependencies to the latest versions to address security vulnerabilities.

Database

  • Updated multiple document templates to include OVI, MLI, Contact chip, Holograms, Extended MRZ, Extended OCR, Photo embedding type, Patterns checks where appropriate.
  • Includes 254 countries and territories, 16942 documents.
  • Added 61 new documents.
